Description
SAIC is seeking a Global Command & Control Systems – Joint (GCCS-J) Installation Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a RHEL/Windows Systems Administration background to join our team in support of the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS) Falconer Program. The position is located at the USAF customer site in Hampton, VA, and reports to the Site Support Team (SST) IPT Lead. This position will support activities at Air Operations Centers (AOCs) located at various CONUS and OCONUS Air Force locations. The selected individual will be part of a team that is responsible for the installation, configuration, sustainment, and troubleshooting of Command and Control (C2) systems. This is an onsite position with travel required up to 25% of the time.

This position requires a demonstrated/thorough understanding of GCCS-J, preferably v6.x and higher, through systems installation/administration/management processes, mission planning/scheduling, experience in the sustainment of an existing baseline, and a fundamental ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues. The successful candidate must be effective at face-to-face interaction with customers (military, government civil service, and contractors) to respond to requests for information and support for technical meetings, technical interchanges, and enterprise working groups. The candidate must be able to work independently and represent the AOC Program Management Office (PMO) and SAIC at meetings and working groups with government and associate contractors. The candidate must be proficient with the working knowledge of supporting Operating Systems: Windows Server 2019 and 2022, VMWare vSphere, Solaris 10-11, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Qualifications
Required Education Experience, Knowledge, and/or Skills:
- Education requirements:
o Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of hands-on Systems Administration experience
o Master’s degree and 5 years of hands-on Systems Administration experience
o Experience and industry certifications will be considered in lieu of education requirements
7 Years of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and/or Unix experience
Proficient in Global Command and Control Systems 6.X
Proficient in GCCS-J Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, Sybase, JBoss
Experience with ICSF, COP, Agile Server/client.
Ansible software/application deployment and DISA Playbooks
Experience with the following systems: TBMCS, JTT-CP, JADOCS, and MAAP-TK.
Perform effective and efficient COP interconnectivity between GCCS-J suites.
Four or more years of experience with at least four of the following software technologies:
o Microsoft Windows Servers and Desktop Operating Systems (OS)
o Microsoft Active Directory (management/configuration)
o Microsoft Group Policy (management/configuration)
o Microsoft Exchange
o Microsoft System Center (SCCM/MECM)
o Windows Software Update Service (WSUS)
o Windows Deployment Services (WDS)
o Microsoft SQL Server or another relational database
o VMWare vSphere and ESXi, or equivalent hypervisor/virtual environment
o Citrix and vDisk, to include Provisioning, XenApp, and Storefront servers
o McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO)
o Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Nessus
Current DoD Secret security clearance, with eligibility for SCI
Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level III within 30 days of the date of hire (CompTIA Security+)
Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS to system fielding sites up to 25% of the time
Active passport required within 90 days of the date of hire
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Desired Experience, Knowledge, and/or Skills:
Working knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies and data backup technologies
Experience with Containers and containerization Applications
Experience with IPTables / Firewall
Working knowledge of CISCO network and switching technologies
Experience with remote file systems, to include CIFs and NSFs
