SAIC Senior Database Developer in OXNARD, California
Description
SAIC is looking for a Senior Database Developer who will sustain and provide future solutions/resolutions for the established Electronic Warfare Data System (EWDS) database. This position will be located at Oxnard, CA .
Candidates will be able to demonstrate the experience in management systems, standards, requirements, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design and architecture, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan and security policy. An expert degree of experience in SQL, SQL Server, SQL programming and scripting is required.
Specific responsibilities of the Database Engineer include monitoring, analyzing, configuring, testing, and reporting database conditions to ensure successful database development and maintenance associated with the following:
Developing new databases, as required, and updating existing databases; heavy SQL use.
Developing simulations and exercises to test readiness responses and communication channels.
Responding to Analysts and user requests for assistance in database integration and development.
Work with clients to translate business requirements into a logical model that will accurately support and represent the client's entity relationship and flow of data.
Develop the appropriate database framework to convert the logical model into a physical model including the creation and maintenance of schemas containing windows, screens, tables and columns and reports that support the model; and making recommendations to maximize operating efficiency, support storage requirements and vendor software updates, enforce data governance, ensure recovery is maintained.
Experience with database technologies including Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL.
Participate in quality assurance and develops test application code in client server environment.
Qualifications
Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience; or a Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Required skills:
Experience, including supervisory experience and/or service integration services with at least 4 years' experience on a program that provides infrastructure services including compute, storage database, transport, enterprise management and/or desktop services.
Experience with database technologies including Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL.
Experience in stakeholder engagement.
Excellent data evaluation skills and use of tools like MS Excel or Tableau.
Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects and actively multi-task.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Required clearance:
- Must have an active Secret security clearance (minimum).
Desired Skills:
Prior experience working with or within the Intelligence Community or military intelligence.
Experience as a Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Data Analyst or Quality Analyst.
Experience with or understanding of various programming/scripting languages, such as Python, Java, SQL and/or PowerShell.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
