SAIC Senior Cloud Engineer in REMOTE WORK, District Of Columbia

Description

SAIC is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team and begin an exciting and challenging career.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as lead cloud engineer supporting more than 40 projects associated with GeoPlatform.gov.

  • Coordinate and transition the secure AWS cloud-based projects to the new contractor support team.

  • Coordinate technical cloud, systems administration, and database administration provided by subcontractors.

  • Assist in procuring commercial virtual machine, AWS, and geospatial software licenses and services

  • Perform optimization, automation, and continuous innovation to enhance the existing GeoPlatform.gov secure cloud environment

  • Implement virtualization of GeoPlatform.gov through virtual machine image deployment, automation and administration

  • Coordinate geospatial cloud implementation using Esri and other commercial and open-source products.

  • Monitor success of projects through service level agreements.

  • Ensure the cloud environment complies with FedRAMP and other Federal security policies

  • Implement long term solutions and building blocks within the agile framework for improved reusability.

  • Provide development support, as needed, for solutions deployed to production.

  • Collaborate, coordinate with colleagues on various solutions and problems.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years’ systems administration, database administration, and/or cloud environment support; Master’s Degree 7 years’ experience; Ph.D and 4 years’ experience.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust requiring U.S. Citizenship

  • Strong experience in secure AWS cloud implementation.

  • Experience with Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and resolution skills.

  • Ability to work in team environments across a diverse set of projects with multiple stakeholders.

  • Proactive approach to problem solving and a delivery mindset.

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and able to work in a team which consists developers with different skillsets

Desired:

  • Experience in one or more industry quality and project management standards such as ISO, CMMI, Six Sigma, PMBOK, and ITIL

  • Experience in implementing cloud-based geospatial environments using Esri and other commercial and open-source products

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
