SAIC Technical Writer Application Engineer in REMOTE WORK, Texas

Description

Help support our nation’s Veterans by joining our high-performance, financial technology team. The Technical Writer Application Engineer will prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, and user documentation. Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing product functionality. Work in a time sensitive environment with the ability to self-manage.

The key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Proficient with Power BI, SharePoint, and other similar tools

  • Assist /Create/Update Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Documents and other technical process documentation with standardized approach.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision in all tasks, from data analysis to documentation

  • Coordinate content creation across multiple documents continuously with competing deadlines

  • Perform quality reviews and peer reviews across technical and nontechnical documents.

  • Evaluate document quality based on accuracy, substance, and quality of written content.

  • Create narrative content for proposal sections and other assignments from scratch based off graphics and/or using "SME interviews" to author prose and validate it with technical system engineers, architects, and other SMEs.

  • Use SAIC style guides and know which documents to apply to which style guide

  • Knowledge of Windows 10 and MS Office Suite 365 including Microsoft Teams

  • Provide excellent customer service experience ·

  • Ability to take initiative and ownership of tasks/projects/writing projects.

  • Time management skills

  • Ability to multitask.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or other analytical or technical discipline preferred.

  • 5 years of relevant experience

  • 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and excellent customer service.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Capable to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Experience providing services to the federal government and/or the Department of Veterans Affairs is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Electronic Commerce products and services

  • Knowledge of Data Analytics general processes

Target salary range: $85,001 - $95,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
