SAIC GMF Application Architect in REMOTE WORK, Virginia

Description

SAIC is looking for a GMF Application Architect to help the IRS Generalized Mainline Framework (GMF) application which is a set of computer programs (batch files) set to run automatically in a specified order on the UNISYS Platform. GMF serves as the pipeline that improves the accuracy and consistency of data from a variety of IRS internal applications as input sources. Tax returns, remittances, information returns, and adjustment and update transactions are controlled, validated, corrected, and passed for posting to the Master File. The GMF application and associated tightly coupled validation and perfection applications represent a critical opportunity for modernizing legacy systems to enhance the taxpayer experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, integration, testing, and deployment for a Modernized GMF Application.

  • Lead the development of a roadmap to modernize the GMF application.

  • Oversee the software development teams to modernize, enhance, and provide for developmental O&M upgrades.

  • Day-to-day job responsibilities will include working with the Unisys OS 2200 systems using COBOL (UCOB), DMS, RDMS, ECL, etc. and modernization tools and technologies.

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS and 18 years of experience (4 years experience in lieu of degree)

  • At least 15 years of experience with developing large enterprise application architectures, including software development methodologies, with at a minimum of 5 years using Agile.

  • The above work experience should demonstrate knowledge of Unisys ClearPath OS 2200, COBOL (UCOB), DMS, RDMS, TIP, ECL, InfoConnect and other core Unisys OS 2200 Mainframe technologies.

  • Experience developing physical and logical architecture, leveraging client templates and processes.

  • Must be client focused, display interpersonal skills and be an effective team leader.

  • Understanding of IRS GMF Application.

  • Application Architecture experience with Unisys OS 2200 platform.

  • Knowledge of computer programming, database access, and applicable tools.

  • Experience with Unisys COBOL, both ACOB and UCOB.

  • Knowledge of Java, mainframe programming and migration.

  • Developer experience with DMS, RDMS, ECL, InfoConnect and related tools.

Desired:

  • An Active IRS MBI Clearance is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of IRS applications on IBM z/OS Platform.

Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
